RISK-BASED INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE (RBIM)

Risk-Based Inspection and Maintenance program (RBIM) is a service provided to users of complex plants who, using survey techniques, build a forecasting model of the deterioration of their assets by defining a plan of periodic interventions which aim to extend their life cycle.

Steps of the Risk-Based Inspection and Maintenance Program

The steps for XEFRA RBIM services are:

  • asset classification and life-cycle model elaboration with CAPEX, OPEX and RISKEX

  • analysis of the negative events probability

  • consequences of failure associated with each equipment, component or structure

  • inspection and maintenance programme development

  • inspection and predictive maintenance techniques (NDT, vibration of rotating machines, thermal analysis of electrical and mechanical parts, lubricate oil analysis)

  • periodic follow up

Benefits are optimisation of operations, cost-effective inspection and maintenance programmes within an asset and risk-management context.
