PED - The Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU)
The European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU applies to the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of stationary pressure equipment with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0,5 bar.
The PED affects most pressure equipment and assemblies:
- Containers and Pipe systems – Parts for piping systems, intended for transport of fluids
- Boiled or otherwise heated equipment – for the production of steam or superheated water
exceeding 110°C - Safety equipment – Devices for protection of pressure equipment against exceeding of permitted limits
- Units – Several pieces of pressure equipment assembled by the manufacturer into a functional whole
Our support in PED 2014/68/EU Conformity Assessment
We have a wide experience in the verification of piping and pressure vessels including their mechanical integration and supporting structures through our 3D modelling capability.
We provide:
- Notified Body services for the CE marking of pressure equipment in partnership
- Advice on what constitutes a pressure system
- Advising what parts of a pressure system should be included in a WSE
- Assessing and evaluating proposals for repairs/ modifications to pressure systems
- Carrying out assessments of pressure plants
- Pressure testing services and NDT test campaign
